Ramirez
My name is Anthony Ramirez, and I am from South Central Los Angeles.
I am a first-gen low-income background Mexican-American. I graduated from USC’s Iovine and Young Academy, where I then went on to work within the tech industry.
About The Brand
The name of my brand is called Wonky Pets. We are a digital brand that explores mental health topics through storytelling centered on our pets. We sell clothing with our animals embroidered and printed on shirts, sweaters, and hats.
The Purpose
Why did you create this brand? What was the reason that you wanted to create your brand?
The name of my brand is called Wonky Pets. We are a digital brand that explores mental health topics through storytelling centered on our pets. We sell clothing with our animals embroidered and printed on shirts, sweaters, and hats.
What message or impact do you want your brand to have on people?
My mission is to revitalize education, where we can all dream big and grow the future we want to see. Right now our community is surviving, and when in survival mode we are slowed down from creating long-term change. Wonky Pets serve as the first moment my community can ask, how do I feel and where do I want to go? A starting point that will ripple-effect into the grassroots movement I am building called the Passioneers movement, one where people build their lives around their passions.
South Central dreams matter, together we will create a new standard of what it means to build the future…”
